Become a Private Investigator

Do I need to have experience in this kind of work?

No not at all, we will be training you, helping you and guiding you. We have a number of investigators that work with us that have come from other backgrounds with no experience.

Why is the training so intense?

You have a lot to learn, and you want to get it right. You will reap the benefits later. This is not like on the television and requires some very real scenarios for you to be tested in.

What about when this industry is regulated by the SIA?

This has been on the cards for many years, and despite what you may read, still is. The home Secretary has this on her agenda to look at, but even when passed and becoming part of the Private Security Industry act 2001, it will take at least a year to come into place. Once it has, we will all need to show experience and apply for licences. But being part of this company, you will benefit from the training you already have.

Will you allow more than one franchise in any one area?

No, you will own the city that you buy into. For London, one Franchise will apply for the Inner M25 and another for the outer M25 areas.

What is the Sentinel Project?

Not a chance! This will only be discussed with successful franchisees who have signed a non-disclosure declaration.

Will I get everything I need to start?

Yes, you really do get everything you need.

Are there any finance packages available?

This can be discussed on an individual basis and will certainly apply to Franchisees buying more than one post code area.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the whole process take?

We have a lot to do, and it will take time, but we aim to have you from the initial meeting to the point of completion within 8 weeks. This includes the two weeks training.

How much can I earn?

This is totally up to you, if you put the work in, you can earn well over £100k. But it’s about showing commitment.

What if I have a criminal record?

This very much depends on what kind of record you have. Any dishonesty related offences in the last 5 years will mean that applications will not be accepted. But please do discuss this with your Lion Franchise Rep.

Is there an annual fee?

There is an annual fee however this will be discussed with Franchisees on an individual basis.

Why are you franchising?

Because we want to grow, and we want to take this to an international level, setting up offices in Asia is now within our 24 month plan. With our franchise growing in the UK, Lion can then go head to head with the international companies.

I want to have people working for me, will you also train them as part of this franchise?

Yes, additional fees apply.
